Frequently Asked Questions
No. Ortho + Onco Physical Therapy is a cash‑based practice, which means payment is made at the time of service. If you’d like to submit for out‑of‑network reimbursement, I can provide a superbill upon request.
Cash‑based care often ends up being less expensive than using insurance once you factor in:
high copays
co‑insurance percentages
deductibles
added fees for services like dry needling that insurance doesn’t cover
You also receive:
longer, one‑on‑one sessions
treatment based on your goals, not insurance rules
no visit limits or prior authorizations
no surprise bills
Most patients find they need fewer total visits because care is more focused and efficient.
Yes. Physical therapy is an eligible medical expense, and you may use HSA or FSA funds to pay for your sessions. Credit card, check, and cash are all accepted forms of payment.
No. Wisconsin is a direct access state, which means you can see a physical therapist without a physician referral. With your permission, I’m always happy to communicate with any member of your healthcare team if they would like updates or wish to collaborate on your care.
It depends on your condition, goals, and how your body responds to treatment. We’ll discuss this during your initial evaluation, and you’ll leave with a clear, individualized plan of care.
Your first visit includes:
a detailed conversation about your history, symptoms, and goals
a thorough physical examination
education about what’s contributing to your symptoms
a clear plan for treatment
same‑day treatment
a personalized home exercise program
You’ll leave understanding what’s going on, why it’s happening, and how we’ll address it together.
Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move easily and gives access to the area being treated. Most patients choose athletic or loose‑fitting clothing.
I kindly ask for 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. If I’m unable to fill the appointment time, a cancellation fee may apply. This helps ensure availability for other patients.
